ADF Rehabilitation Consultant
Overview
Be part of the team that gets our military fully fit, ready to defend and protect Australia. Nurses bring a truly unique and valuable insight in supporting our ADF return to wellness. Working as a Rehabilitation Consultant you will draw upon your clinical skills and support people throughout their rehab journey. Unlike many nursing roles, you will be rewarded with real tangible outcomes. A vital link helping our ADF achieve specific health goals to be able to return to service.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including the employee who has suffered injury, illness, or trauma, medical specialists, other treatment providers and allied health professionals
- Apply your nursing knowledge to facilitate a return to wellness plan
- Case management — implementing and monitoring rehabilitation plans
- Complete initial assessments and perform worksite reviews
Performance and Work Style
Unlike most other Rehabilitation Consultant roles, KPIs are based on service delivery outcomes and not billable hours. There is a genuine person-centred focus.
Working Arrangements
Set working hours allow true work/life balance — no overtime or after-hours work. Typical hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm. Location: Robertson Barracks, Holtze. A part-time option (four days, Monday to Thursday) is also available at RAAF Darwin.
Support and Benefits
You will be supported and mentored through direct interaction and an extensive onboarding process (including ongoing shadowing) to build your technical knowledge and expertise. As part of a global group, you will have access to benefits such as a Fitness Passport and discounts at hundreds of retailers.
What will make you successful
- Current unrestricted registration or membership with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing
- Case management experience would be advantageous and/or experience with professional documentation or report writing
- Twelve months minimum experience working in your profession with full registration
- Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support the achievement of a common goal
- Passion to help people rehabilitate
- Australian Citizenship
(Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists, Rehabilitation Counsellors, Osteopaths or Social Workers with appropriate professional registration are also encouraged to apply)
