Our vision is Excellent health care, every time. You can read more about SMHS in our Strategic Plan here. Currently we are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Orthopaedic team. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – - Plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates specialist nursing functions within the Orthopaedic service. - Promotes excellence in clinical standards and quality care for patients having joint replacements at Fremantle Hospital through developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, education of staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities. - The CNS is responsible for the provision of a consultation service within their area of expertise within the Hospital. As a senior nurse you will have professional accountability to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery and provide mentorship and role modelling for nurses, contributing to the advancement of the profession in keeping with the vision and values for Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group Nursing. Responsibilities - Plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate advanced nursing practice within the Orthopaedic service. - Provide expert clinical leadership and support for staff involved in joint replacement care, including education and quality improvement activities. - Provide a consultation service within the CNS area of expertise across the hospital. Qualifications and requirements - Registered Nurse with current authorisation to practise in Australia (and relevant CNS qualifications/endorsement as applicable). - Demonstrated experience or interest in orthopaedic care and joint replacement pathways. - Professional accountability and ability to mentor nursing staff.
