About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Nurse Consultant within the Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Division.
The Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care (DOHAC) has commissioned a new nine-bed Specialist Dementia Care Unit (SDCU) under the Specialist Dementia Care Program (SDCP). This will be situated at The Italian Village, St Agnes, operated by the Italian Benevolent Foundation (Bene Aged Care).
Working within our dedicated team, you will provide expert clinical leadership and specialised nursing care to patients living with dementia and their families. This role combines hands-on patient care with consultative responsibilities, allowing you to shape best practice approaches in dementia care across our health network.
Key Responsibilities
- provide expert clinical consultation and leadership in dementia care
- develop and implement evidence-based care plans for complex dementia patients
- mentor and educate nursing staff in specialist dementia care practices
- collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
- support families and carers through the dementia journey
Eligibility
To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
