The Administrative Support Officer provides administrative support to the TERN Ecosystem Surveillance team, based with the Ecosystem Surveillance team at the Waite Campus, Adelaide. This is a fixed-term, full-time position working under routine supervision.

About TERN Ecosystem Surveillance

TERN is an Australian Government NCRIS-funded environmental monitoring National Research Infrastructure. It collects ecosystem data and samples from around Australia using instrumented monitoring sites, field surveys and remote-sensing techniques. TERN shares this data to enable Australia’s research on climate change, biodiversity, water and soil. The Ecosystem Surveillance platform collects soil and vegetation data across monitoring plots to support environmental change monitoring.

Responsibilities

Under routine supervision, provide administrative support to the Ecosystem Surveillance team to assist with day-to-day operations and reporting.

To be successful you will need

- Demonstrated experience in MS Office programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- Sound verbal and written communication skills.

- Good time management and organisational skills.

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Proven ability to actively contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team and implement change in the workplace.

- Demonstrated outstanding customer service taking pride in the service provided.

- Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and multi-task.

- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
