Junior School - Two Positions Available
1-Year Term, Part-Time (.50 FTE), starting September 1, 2025

The Position:
This role combines the responsibilities of both an Educational Assistant and an Associate Teacher. The successful candidate will work with classroom teachers to support the needs of individual students who have a range of learning exceptionalities. These students may receive small-group or individualized support to achieve the goals outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). In addition, there will be time to assist classroom teachers with curricular and non-curricular needs of the class and support whole class learning. There will also be opportunities to cover in other classes as an Associate Teacher on call.
This role requires strong collaboration skills, flexibility, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning. It also includes supervisory responsibilities during recess and lunch, as well as occasional after-school meetings.
We have two positions available:
0.5 FTE Primary Educational Assistant position with Associate Teacher responsibilities
0.5 FTE Intermediate Educational Assistant position with Associate Teacher responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Supporting academic achievement in a setting that also nurtures character and personal growth
Assisting neurodiverse learners with academic, behavioural, and/or mental health needs
Working collaboratively with all members of the Junior School faculty to support student progress
Daily documentation and communication with teachers
Managing multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively
Collaborating proactively and anticipating challenges as part of a supportive team environment
The successful candidate will have the following skills, background and interest:
Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including neurodivergent students, and providing behavioural interventions when needed
Bachelor of Education degree (preferred)
Experience teaching or assisting in an elementary school setting
A strong understanding of early childhood development and behavioural interventions
Demonstrated ability to work with students in varied learning environments using differentiated instructional strategies
Experience with technology for documentation, communication, and the use of assistive technologies to support students with accommodations
Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly within a multidisciplinary team
Sense of humour and commitment to the joy of learning
Annual salary range: $26,140 - $28,295. This range has been pro-rated for 0.5 FTE.
Criminal Record Check:
Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
