Project description

Support one of the top Australian banks as they seek to modernise their analytics platform. Be a part of an inspirational and innovative team which focuses on digitisation of processes, automation and quantitative analytics across Global Markets. Utilising your strong development skills, you will leverage the Beacon platform to create exciting new end-user applications and features, enabling the business to stay at the top of its game.

Responsibilities

- Build innovative solutions to solve complex Global Markets business challenges
- Operate autonomously through the full product lifecycle, focusing both on business outcomes as well as technology
- Design and implement robust, scalable software using DevSecOps practices to ensure security at every stage of development
- Apply quantitative skills to implement data-driven solutions that support complex financial decision-making
- Collaborate with stakeholders to digitalize deal lifecycle processes
- Manage financial and operational risks through robust system design and automated monitoring
- Stay current with emerging technologies (AI, ML, cloud computing) and articulate how they can be applied to drive business value

Skills

Must have

- 5-8 years of solid Python development experience
- Experience working with modern architectures, integrating Kafka and middleware
- Capital Markets/Trading domain experience - understanding the nuances and complexities of Market and Trade Data
- Hands-on experience in other languages (e.g., Java)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, strong communicator and "can-do" attitude

Nice to have

- Experience with the Beacon Platform (https://beacon.io)
- Deeper knowledge of capital markets financial & risk products - their instruments and differences
- Knowledge of architectural patterns, cloud-native solutions on AWS, serverless & microservices architecture
- Extensive experience with AWS services related to data storage and processing (S3, RDS, Redshift, DataZone, Glue)
- Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres and MongoDB)
- GitHub Enterprise Cloud, CI/CD using GitHub Actions
- Automated testing expertise
- Proficiency with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
