About the role:
As the National Pallet Controller, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Pallet Management Process in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure the accountability, physical and transactional accuracy of equipment, lead the reconciliation process, reporting of all equipment accounts to achieve the most optimal and cost-effective outcome for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and trading partners.
- Promote an organizational culture that recognizes the value of reusable equipment and equipment control.
- Improve and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) reporting.
- Coordinate and implement effective process controls for pallet movements across the business.
- Oversee timely stock takes and the reconciliation process.
- Investigate variances, identify causes of discrepancies, and recommend resolutions.
- Ensure cost optimisation throughout the pallet management process and transactions.
- Maximise the use of reusable pallets while adhering to safety and quality requirements.
- Conduct collaborative root cause and gap analysis to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Implement and support training on pallet control and key processes.
- Provide expert advice on process and system improvements related to equipment control and management.
- Manage pallet hire transaction programs (e.g., My CHEP & Loscam Online), including site training.
- Review and enhance the Pallet Management Process by adopting best practices.
- Support Inventory Team Functions during leave periods.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and accuracy, along with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. A good understanding of manufacturing and warehouse operations, sales and distribution, materials handling equipment, and pallet management software is essential, along with strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. The ability to influence cross functionally and drive positive change whilst build and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members, trading partners, and customers is crucial.
Prior operational knowledge and understanding of pallet control/management is highly regarded, as is proficiency in SAP and the Microsoft Office suite, and knowledge of inventory planning and control principles.
