Overview
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of 21st century innovation to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
At Anduril Australia we are developing uncrewed systems for operations in many domains that will leverage unsupervised autonomy for the delivery of multi-mission capability to our customers, including the Dive-XL “Ghost Shark” in collaboration with the Royal Australian Navy. These projects require Operations Analysts with deep levels of relevant domain experience to provide direction to software and hardware engineers. The Operations Analyst interfaces with external and internal stakeholders to identify needs, then deliver rigorous math and physics-based analytical products which will guide product development and complement demonstration events, ensuring Anduril builds systems that offer real and proximate military capability. The Operations Analyst will engage with Software Engineers building the supporting mission system software to ensure that predicted customer needs are integrated into all facets of the platform, including user experience and autonomous behaviours.
What you’ll do
- Provide subject matter expertise (SME) input into the development and refinement of future advanced concepts for the Maritime division
- Provide SME input into autonomous system and/or behavior design
- Define the user experience that Anduril wants to provide to planners/operators of our autonomous systems so that software features enable the breadth of anticipated needs
- Design, plan, and execute stakeholder engagement workshops to elicit customer needs and to inform training system requirements to support the deployment of our autonomous systems
- Develop model-driven analysis, and often the models themselves, using advanced modeling and simulation capabilities, as inputs to critical design decisions for autonomous vehicle design, development, and employment
- Develop a deep understanding of the transformational value of Anduril platforms, autonomy, simulation and perception products
- Effectively convey the value of cutting edge technology and approaches, including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence, meshed edge computing, multi-agent autonomy and human machine teaming
- Work as a member of an international, multi-disciplinary team, including as a subject matter expert and mentor for both Hardware and Software Engineers from differing backgrounds
- Drive engagement, both internal and external, to discover gaps in the understanding of autonomous platform capability
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of familiarity with the subsurface, surface, or air domain as it relates to military naval operations, including tactics, planning, logistics, and/or capability acquisition and sustainment
- Outstanding communication skills, including visual representation of complex concepts, processes and data in a manner appropriate to particular stakeholders
- Ability to decompose issues within complex problem spaces, working alongside engineering teams to identify actionable next steps and drive novel solution development
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NV2 Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of recent military service as a submarine warfare officer, surface warfare officer or in an Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) role
- 1+ years experience in providing training on naval warfare topics such as tactics, or naval systems such as aircraft or combat systems
- 1+ years experience with modeling and simulation, simulated military training environments, and/or military uncrewed system operations
- Background in STEM or significant experience in a technologically complex environment (such as operating a submarine or military aircraft)
