About the role:

The Senior OT Engineer – Network and Communications role provides design, platform implementation, continuous improvement and ongoing support for Origin Energy's critical Integrated Gas (IG) Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, with a particular focus on Network and Communications infrastructure.

You will contribute to connecting critical applications and systems for key stakeholders, delivering end-to-end technical solutions to allow these to operate critical infrastructure in remote facilities in support of IG's strategic and operational goals.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide specialist OT network expertise with a strong understanding of OT environments and concepts
- Maintain a stable 24x7 Gas production network environment for IG Operational Technology
- Lead design and architecture decisions for network connectivity to OT systems and platforms
- Engage and consult with business stakeholders, especially within various engineering disciplines, and provide OT-specific expertise and advice that also meets the needs of complex engineering processes
- Implementation of network infrastructure using vendor-agnostic principles, with experience using vendor products such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper devices within ongoing operations, including refresh, replacement, and upgrade of components.
- Review, test and roadmap new technologies for OT Network infrastructure and processes
- Manage and contribute to fast appropriate resolution to all critical IT-OT Network and Hosting related situations.
- In this role, there will be a requirement to work from the field in order to support the commissioning and integration works associated to Greenfield and Brownfield locations.

What will you bring?

- Experience with multiple routing and Cisco OTV protocols (OSPF/BGP/HSRP/EIGRP)
- Demonstrated technical leadership qualities and experience
- Thorough understanding of Process Control Network standards and concepts
- Good understanding of OT networking for SCADA, DCS, SIS, or other controls/automation systems
- Design and implementation of highly available and complex network environments involving a large array of network components and protocols
- Highly advanced knowledge of Cisco network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls
- Experience in Network Engineering, Communications and Electronic systems including IP transport networks, Packet switched, and Circuit switched networks, Wireless Networks, Microwave, DWDM, and Signal Propagation, and security as it relates to IP networks.
- Experience with multiple switching protocols (STP-RPVST/STP-MSP/bundles)
- Extensive experience resolving highly complex network issues across distributed remote networks
