Overview

Croydon Shire Council is seeking a motivated and community-minded Pool and Gym Attendant to manage and supervise the operation of Croydon’s swimming pool and gym facilities. The role is central to improving the quality of life, health, and wellbeing of our residents by providing safe, welcoming, and accessible sport and recreation services.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and facility upkeep, while encouraging the use of both the pool and gym by community members and visitors. The role also involves building strong relationships with local schools, clubs, and organisations to support active participation.

Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations of Croydon’s pool and gymnasium facilities.
- Ensure safe access to facilities and equipment for all users.
- Respond to community needs regarding pool and gym programming.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with members, community groups, and visitors.
- Minimum shift length is 3 hours; role includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Skills / Experience Required

- Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Working with Children Blue Card.
- Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Pool Lifeguard qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, including anaphylaxis and asthma training.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage service delivery, maintenance, and administration tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
