CFO - Music & Media Industry
This is an exciting, high impact CFO role at a publicly listed music and media group that blends creativity with technology. The Board is seeking a senior finance leader who can deliver and implement clear processes and procedures for the finance function across a group of entities. Helping to produce a clean audit and build the high performing finance platform needed to support the group’s next phase of growth. If you thrive in visible, outcome driven leadership roles and enjoy translating complex commercial performance into confident Board and investor narratives, this role offers immediate responsibility, influence and organisational leadership. Why this role matters: - It’s board level leadership with clarity of purpose, stabilise performance, re-establish trust with the market and deliver scalable systems and controls. - You’ll move fast, the first six months are focused on measurable wins (audit, controls, cash), and the Board will back decisive action. - You’ll own digital transformation, implementing best practice workflows and creating a single source of truth that powers smarter commercial decisions. What you’ll own: - Lead the finance function as the Board’s trusted partner, accountable for investor communications, ASX compliance and commercial insight. - Drive financial reporting, audit delivery and a month end close that stakeholders can rely on. - Rebuild and simplify the finance tech stack (ERP, ApprovalMax, BI) to eliminate duplication and surface actionable insight. - Implement a rolling 13-week cash forecast and an assertive receivables strategy to restore cash predictability. First 6‑month outcomes (clear, measurable): - Clean H1 FY26 audit signoff. - ApprovalMax workflows implemented across core entities and reconciliations fixed between Ad‑Ops and accounting. - Rolling 13-week cash forecast live and material reduction in >30day receivables. - Group operating cost reduction plan presented to the Board. Who you are: - A board grade CFO or senior finance leader with ASX experience, ideally from music, media, adtech or creative services. - Deep technical accounting acumen (IFRS, revenue recognition, M&A integration) plus hands on systems delivery experience. - A proven turnaround operator, you’ve stabilised finance functions under scrutiny, led audit remediation and built confidence with investors. - Confident communicator with executive presence. You can present to directors, engage advisors and influence cross functional leaders. - Pragmatic, decisive, and equally comfortable in the detail and the strategic view. What’s in it for you: - A visible, strategic role with Board exposure and the mandate to deliver change. - The chance to shape finance systems, governance and commercial reporting across multiple entities. - Flexible hybrid working based in Melbourne and direct access to specialist external advisers to support delivery. - ESS participation upon successful probation. How to apply: If this sounds like you, then please click on the "Apply" button and follow the prompts. If you think you have what it takes but don’t necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still apply – We’d love to learn more about you For any questions regarding this opportunity or if you require adjustments to participate in the recruitment process, please reach out to John O’Hare at john.ohare@thebluerock.com.au or Lee Kelly at lee.kelly@thebluerock.com.au Please be advised that BlueRock or any of its related or controlled entities do not accept unsolicited contact or resumes from Recruitment Agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
