Warreen Primary School, a new co‑educational school opened in January 2024, is part of the Truganina North Learning Precinct. With a growing enrolment of 650 students in 2025, the school will expand to 800‑1000 students. We provide an administration and STEAM building, three learning neighbourhoods, a community hub and extensive outdoor play areas.

Selection Criteria

- SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skill instruction, and experience in responding to student learning needs.

- SC2: Experience in planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact on student growth.

- SC3: Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice and giving feedback to students and parents.

- SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.

- SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values; reflective practice and engagement in professional learning for continuous improvement.

Role

The classroom teacher is classified into two salary ranges. The primary focus is on planning, preparing and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes, supported by critical reflection and inquiry.

As experience grows, teachers may undertake additional duties in line with their salary range, qualifications, training and experience. Range 2 teachers support the school's strategic plan, contribute to policy and mentor colleagues; Range 1 teachers focus on classroom management, content delivery and may coach new entrants.

Responsibilities

- Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.

- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programmes.

- Undertaking other teaching‑related and organisational duties as directed by the Principal.

- Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.

- Carrying out non‑teaching supervisory duties when required.

Who May Apply

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach, or with demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area(s).

Qualification Requirements

- Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

- Completion of an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January 2024, with satisfactory completion of a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program.

- Graduates of a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program after 1 July 2016 must meet the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) requirements.
