About the role
As Maintenance Supervisor at Vibe Hotel Adelaide, you will demonstrate enthusiasm and flair for providing exemplary guest service by embracing the "Go MAD" philosophy. You will manage all processes within the maintenance and engineering department, including preventative maintenance scheduling and expenditure planning. The property has 187 rooms and a large floor plan; the role is hands-on, independent, and requires practical skills.
To be successful in this role, you should:
1. Respond to and attend guest repair requests, acknowledging all guests according to company standards, and anticipate their needs.
2. Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
3. Communicate effectively with diverse individuals to understand their needs and provide assistance.
4. Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS (Property Management System) and update remarks upon task completion.
5. Update maintenance work order forms / job cards and file them appropriately.
6. Interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
7. Work well under pressure and exercise good judgment.
8. Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas such as plumbing, electrical repairs, hardware fixes, and cosmetic repairs.
9. Carry out general housekeeping, inventory duties, and work independently.
10. Analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement high-quality repairs as an independent mechanic.
11. Be available for emergencies, acting in an engineering capacity to protect guests and staff, and to preserve building systems.
12. Repair walls, maintain pools and garden areas, manage plant rooms, check air conditioning filtration, and coordinate with subcontractors. Experience with plumbing is an advantage.
13. This role may require on-call availability.
Who can APPLY
1. Minimum 1-2 years of experience, preferably in building management such as aged care, not necessarily hotel-specific.
2. Experience in garden maintenance, pool management, with a strong preference for pool operator certification.
3. Appropriate Industry Trade Qualification.
4. Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
5. Testing & tagging licenses are advantageous but not essential.
