Overview

We are seeking to establish a pool of Design and Technology Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. We currently have two positions available: 1 x permanent, full-time position; 1 x 12-month fixed-term, part-time position with possible extension and/or permanency.

School

Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) has served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region since 1921. The school offers a blend of traditional and innovative programs for students from year 7 to 12, with facilities including a Trade Training Centre, a new Sports Hall and Performing Arts Centre, and a STEM facility. The school values a learning culture where staff and students grow through innovation, connection, resilience, and a Growth Mindset.

To create a safe and supported learning environment, staff are trained in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), and Peer Observation and Feedback. The school follows Positive Behaviour Support values focused on wellbeing and safety.

The Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate Design and Technology teachers to join our innovative Technologies team. The suitable applicants should be confident teaching across Woodwork and Metalwork, with experience in Engineering being highly regarded. A Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor qualification would be advantageous. Strong understanding of the Years 7 to 10 WA Technologies Curriculum and Senior School Design and Technology courses is ideal. We are looking for teachers who bring a positive attitude, high-quality teaching, and a commitment to fostering curiosity and practical problem-solving in students.

Applicants should be reflective and adaptable, embrace a growth mindset, and support students to persist, take risks, and learn from challenges. They should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and build meaningful relationships within the school community. If you are committed to inspiring students through engaging hands-on learning and continuous improvement in teaching practice, we encourage you to apply.
