Full-time SA Veterinary Surgeon – Canberra

We are a large and busy small animal practice with an on-site, independent Emergency Service.

Responsibilities

- Join a large, busy small animal practice with an on-site independent Emergency Service.

- Work in a purpose-built, modern hospital alongside experienced veterinarians, nurses, receptionists and support staff.

- Enjoy an exciting and varied caseload in a modern, progressive and fully equipped hospital.

- Collaborate with a team to provide high-quality veterinary care.

Benefits

- Ongoing training and support – CPD, DE and daily rounds, with encouragement in areas of special interest.

- Generous salary commensurate with experience, including paid study leave. $65,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation, negotiable for the right candidate.

- Set rotating roster, occasional Saturday; closed Sundays.

- Opportunity to build small animal skills with amazing clients.

- No after hours – on-site independent Emergency service; hospital open 24/7, 365 days a year.

Ideal candidate

- Preferably an experienced Vet, mostly or exclusively small animals; new and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills; enjoys a collaborative environment.

- Desire to build long-term relationships with clients.

About us

A little more about us: We actively promote preventative medicine, particularly in:

- Animal behaviour (running 4-7 puppy classes per week)

- Orthopaedics (PennHIP and JPS)

- Nutrition and dental care, amongst other things.

We have two excellent ultrasonographers, a busy in-house laboratory, and refer to a team of specialists within Canberra. Eye and dermatology specialists visit regularly. We operate an after-hours emergency service on-site, ensuring overnight care and peace of mind for clients. This arrangement also means no out-of-hours duties for vets and nurses.
