Overview

Hospitality Training Network (HTN) is seeking an eager and dedicated Apprentice Chef to join the team at The Depot - Bondi Beach. The Depot is a family-run cafe located in North Bondi, adjacent to Bondi Beach, sourcing local and sustainable produce.

Location

The Depot – Sharing a love of surfing, diving, good coffee and healthy food, the Depot cafe celebrates flavours, simplicity, fresh whole foods and a relaxed atmosphere.

What’s involved

As an Apprentice Chef, you will learn alongside qualified Chefs in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. You will work with us to learn and gain experience from skilled professionals within a commercial kitchen environment at one of our host venues, handling large quantities of food and a variety of seasonal ingredients. Key activities include:

- Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of dishes
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers, fryers, steamers under supervision
- Learn different knife and cooking techniques
- Clean, maintain and store kitchen equipment appropriately

Requirements and profile

You will be an eager, motivated individual with a passion for food and a desire to kick-start your culinary career. You should have good communication skills, seek opportunities to learn, and show initiative in daily duties.

Wage

Award wages apply

Eligibility for NSW apprenticeships

- Australian Citizenship
- Australian Permanent Residency
- New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months
