Description

Job Summary:

To identify and correct malfunctioning jet, turboprop, and reciprocating multi-engine aircraft mechanical components and systems. Performs annual and progressive inspections as well as modification work on customer aircraft. This role is based in Coolangatta, Queensland.

Job Duties

- Performs a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on jet and/or turboprop aircraft models, involving diagnosing malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery to customer.
- Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft engines, mechanical systems, and components on all assigned aircraft.
- Checks, corrects, or replaces complex aircraft assemblies, landing gear systems, air conditioning systems, pressurization systems, and optional equipment installations.
- Repairs or replaces engine components and accessory items such as fuel control units, fuel injection systems, air bleed systems, oil and fuel pumps, starter/generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
- Follows annual and progressive inspection procedures set forth in aircraft maintenance manuals. Performs modification work on aircraft systems and structures.
- Provides clear, concise, and accurate written reports in logs, inspection reports, and parts identification for issue and return documents.
- Conducts functional checks, engine test runs, instrument tests and alignment, and preventive maintenance. Performs rigging, synchronizing of throttles, and setting the stops.
- May observe operation of mechanical systems during flight and troubleshoot problems for in-shop repairs.
- Ensures work is performed in accordance with the latest safety standards, maintaining aircraft in the most airworthy and reliable condition for customer safety.
- Uses tensiometers, micrometers, pressure gauges, dial gauges, vacuum gauges, and various hand tools to repair and modify systems or assemblies.

Qualifications

- Must hold a B2 CASA license.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments necessary for job tasks.
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
- Outstanding customer service skills required.
- Experience in Business aviation preferred.
- Citation/Hawker/Beechcraft certifications are a plus.
