The Position

We are seeking an individual with a strong passion and drive to engage and provide counselling support to adults and young people, both one‑on‑one and in group settings. The successful candidate will represent the HelpingMinds brand positively and build strong working relationships with local service providers.

Responsibilities

- Provide counselling services to young people (0‑18) at risk of mental health issues and adult carers, including Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse carers.

- Use brief intervention models and therapeutic interventions as appropriate.

- Establish and run self‑help support groups for carers.

- Develop well‑being care plans with clients using a strengths‑based approach, setting goals and identifying support networks.

Qualifications

- Tertiary degree in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work.

- Current driver’s licence.

- Proof of Australian working rights.

- Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance within 6 months, a Working with Children Card, and a Current First Aid Certificate.
