The Department of Education is looking for a skilled and passionate Psychologist, to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) team in the Inner East, within our multidisciplinary team of psychologists, speech pathologist and social workers.
This is an ongoing full-time position within the Student Support Services Inner East Team, based in the Glen Waverley Regional Office.
About the Role
The Department of Education is looking for a skilled and passionate Psychologist, to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) team in the Inner East, within our multidisciplinary team of psychologists, speech pathologist and social workers.
As part of an area-based Health Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforce (HWIW) you will work collaboratively to help build the capability of schools to support student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing and support schools to address the barriers that impact on student access, preparation, and progress towards their educational goals and developmental potential. SSS achieve this through the provision of a range of assessments, strategies and specialised support at individual, group, and school levels.
As an AH3 Psychologist you will also be required to:
- Manage a varied caseload
- Undertake the health and wellbeing key contact function
- Respond to incidents within schools
- Contribute to capability building within schools

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- A graduate or post-graduate degree in Psychology.
- Full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)
- A current Australian Drivers' Licence
- A current Working with Children Check.

About the Division
The purpose of Student Support Services (SSS) is to work as a part of a broader Health and Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforce (HWIW) to support schools to address the barriers that impact on student (s) access, participation, and progress to achieving their educational goals and developmental potential.
SSS comprise the Allied Health professions of psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers.
SSS services include consultation, provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, classroom, school, and Area levels. SSS staff build a strong understanding of all DET resources to ensure they support schools holistically as well as utilising their discipline specific skills.
About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
