With a capacity for 53 children, Growing Minds ELC operates under the National Quality Framework, delivering tailored programs in a newly refurbished facility with spacious indoor and outdoor spaces. About the Position:
The Early Childhood Teacher at Growing Minds ELC Tamworth is responsible for leading the development and implementation of educational programs that promote children's learning and development in a supportive, inclusive environment. This role involves mentoring educators, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Standard, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and staff to achieve optimal developmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement educational programs based on individual children's needs, interests, and experiences, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
Document and assess children's developmental progress, setting further learning goals.
Collaborate with the Educational Leader and Director/Nominated Supervisor to update the Quality Improvement Plan.
Ensure compliance with child protection legislation and act as a mandated reporter.
Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards, including correct educator-to-child ratios and safe food handling.
Lead and mentor educators to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
Promote environmental sustainability and ensure the physical environment meets National Regulations.
Provide supervision and critical reflection to educators to enhance the educational program.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with service policies, including Privacy and Confidentiality Policy.
Report issues affecting children, service approval, or regulatory compliance to the Director/Nominated Supervisor.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent, recognized under the National Quality Framework.
Experience: Minimum of 12 months' experience in an early childhood education setting.
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor and guide educators.
Ability to document and assess children's developmental progress effectively.
Understanding of child protection legislation and workplace health and safety requirements.
Proficiency in creating inclusive, play-based learning environments.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
