Clinical Nurse Specialist

We have an opportunity in our Clinical Nurse Specialist team, responsible for operational management of infection prevention and control at Doutta Galla Aged Services.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Executive Manager Clinical Governance you will be work across all Doutta Galla Homes providing leadership and expertise in the areas of infection control prevention and management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure that infection control compliance and accreditation outcomes are achieved across the organisation.

- Review and report on infection prevention and control audits, inspections and compliance reporting.

- Develop, maintain and evaluate Doutta Galla’s infection prevention and control activities to ensure compliance with ACQSC and NDIS Standards and best practice.

- Support Home Managers and IPC Leads to review current infection prevention control plans to ensure they meet key performance deliverables

- In the event of an infectious disease outbreak, act as the IPC Manager for the home by providing onsite leadership and delegation regarding matters related to IPC.

- In consultation with the Learning and Organisational Development team, develop and provide infection prevention education and training to clinical and non-clinical staff.

- Promote awareness of standard and transmission-based precautions

- Contribute to clinical governance activities, including quality improvement, accreditation, and policy review.

Experience and Skills:

- Current AHPRA Registered Nurse DIV 1 registration with no conditions.

- Postgraduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control.

- Master of Infection Prevention & Control will be highly regarded.

- Demonstrated knowledge of outbreak management in residential aged care

- Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory frameworks and requirements including the Stengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership including using effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong planning, time management and organisational skills.

- Ability to assess, review results, andimplement necessary improvements to ensure best practice is achieved.
