Job Description
As the Retail & Exhibition Sales Manager at Melbourne Royal, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and managing the exhibition experience for our exhibitors. Based at the Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale, this full-time permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your sales expertise and leadership skills. You will be responsible for planning, developing, selling and delivering commercial exhibition space for the Melbourne Royal Show. You will manage the full lifecycle of exhibitor engagement, including new business development, retention, contracting, compliance and onsite delivery. Accountable for achieving exhibition-related revenue targets and contributes to broader commercial growth through ancillary products, sponsorship alignment and emerging revenue opportunities. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality exhibitions that meet commercial, operational and customer experience objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in exhibition, event or B2B sales with demonstrated revenue achievement
- Strong commercial acumen and budget accountability
- Confidence in new business development, negotiation and relationship management
- Experience delivering complex, live events or exhibitions
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- Results-driven, solutions-focused and comfortable working autonomously
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines
- Positive, collaborative and aligned to organisational values
Organisation compliance
- Current Working with Children Check required
- Must be available to work the 11 days of the Melbourne Royal Show
- Must be able to work additional hours in the lead up and during events where required
