POSITION DESCRIPTION

Duties/Responsibilies:

1. Overall, the day-to-day role involves planning, erecting, adjusting, and dismantling scaffolding structures while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the team's objectives and the organization's policies.

2. Determining job requirements & planning scaffolding: This involves assessing the specific needs of a project or job, considering factors such as height, load requirements, and access points. It includes planning the layout and design of the scaffolding structure.

3. Erection of scaffolding of various types, establishing platforms & safety measures: This involves physically assembling the scaffolding according to the planned design. It includes setting up platforms at appropriate heights and ensuring proper safety measures, such as guardrails, toe boards, and securing the scaffolding to the building or structure.

4. Dismantling & removing on completion: Once the job is completed, the scaffolder is responsible for dismantling the scaffolding safely and removing it from the site.

5. Identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair: The scaffolder should be able to identify any potential hazards or defects in the scaffolding structure. They should promptly address and rectify any issues to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

6. Ensure compliance with codes of practice, working practices, and health & safety: The scaffolder must adhere to established codes of practice, working practices, and health and safety guidelines. This includes following proper procedures, using appropriate equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment.

7. Carry out planned tasks within agreed time limits: The scaffolder is expected to complete assigned tasks within the agreed-upon time limits, ensuring that the scaffolding is erected, adjusted, or dismantled efficiently and in a timely manner.

8. Maintain accurate records/documentation: Keeping accurate records and documentation is important for tracking progress, documenting safety inspections, and complying with legal requirements. This may include recording safety checks, equipment inspections, and any adjustments or repairs made to the scaffolding.

9. Reporting problems/failures: Any problems or failures that may impact the organization or its clients/customers should be reported immediately to a supervisor or relevant authority for timely resolution.

10. Meeting targets and contributing to the team: The scaffolder should work towards achieving personal targets and also contribute to the overall goals and targets of the team. This involves effective communication, collaboration, and coordination with colleagues and supervisors.

11. Contributing to the smooth running of the team: The scaffolder should actively contribute to the efficient and smooth running of the team by cooperating with team members, following instructions, and assisting in any necessary tasks.

12. Adhering to organization policies & procedures: It is important for the scaffolder to comply with all organizational policies and procedures related to work, safety, and other relevant areas.

Qualification/Skills:

• Hold an Advanced Scaffolder HRWL.

• Hold a WAH Ticket (Within 2 Years).

• Hold a White Card.

• Be Physically fit and capable of Manual work.

• Be able to safely work at Heights.
Experience required:

• At least 5 years' relevant work experience.
