About CareSouth
30 years young, CareSouth is growing, offering rewarding permanent opportunities across NSW. We are a community-based organisation with a big heart supporting the safety, development and empowerment of children, young people and families everyday.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management of our Therapeutic Homes and Intensive Therapeutic Care Homes based in Queanbeyan, ensuring each residence delivers responsive, person-centred services that meet individual needs and uphold funding requirements. Travel to Goulburn will be required for this role. You’ll lead a passionate team committed to creating safe, supportive and therapeutic environments for children and young people in care.
What is ITC?
Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) is a specialised service system delivered under the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). The model supports children and young people who are unable to receive needed supports in foster care or require specialised and intensive supports to maintain stability in their care arrangements. Complex mental health, intellectual and physical disability, emotional and behavioural issues are characteristics of these children and young people, resulting in behaviours that often present a risk to themselves and others in their immediate environment.
The goals of the ITC program include but are not limited to:
- Provide a safe, home-like environment for 12–18-year-olds.
- Have a strong focus on healing from trauma.
- Build life skills and connections for young people.
- Give young people as many chances as it takes to get it right.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader who is passionate about quality care and empowering teams. You will bring:
- A degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Welfare, Disability Services, Community Services, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant leadership experience within a similar service environment.
- Proven interpersonal, problem-solving and conflict-management skills, with the ability to lead effectively in challenging situations.
- A commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and client-focused care.
