Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership to the nursing staff working at Gosford Hospital.

About the Opportunity

The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, ward management and leadership of the professions of nursing and midwifery to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

This position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of care and enhancing the overall patient experience. In this role you will:

- Be responsible for the coordination of patient services, unit management and nursing staff management consistent with the strategic directions of Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).

- Take overall responsibility for the health care environment and standard of patient care.

- Perform as a clinical leader and manager with accountability for culture, quality and safety, patient flow, financial management, change management and the experience of patients.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote a supportive environment.

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Extensive recent post-registration clinical experience and knowledge of current nursing and midwifery issue in the required speciality.

Proven leadership and management skills and demonstrated ability to lead manage and support a clinical team.

Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
