What you’ll be doing As a Senior QA Engineer, you will report to the QA Lead and take a proactive role in driving strategic and complex projects. You will mentor intermediate QA engineers and continuously improve our testing strategies and processes. Your primary focus will be on automation tasks, while also leading key QA initiatives. Collaboration & Planning - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk, define testing plan aligned with cycle goal and project goals. - Drive quality assurance initiatives from conception to deployment, ensuring robust test coverage across all stages of the development lifecycle. - Drive QA kick-off, QA demo sessions, assist and coach developers to write testing notes. - Identifying, documenting, and tracking complex software defects with actionable insights. - Work closely with development teams to conduct root cause analysis and drive quick resolutions for critical defects. Advanced Test Planning & Execution - Risk mitigation, oversee the development and execution of complex test plans, ensuring they cover both functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, security and scalability. - Being actively in implementation of end-to-end testing Playwright framework, with a focus on expanding test automation coverage. - Coordinate and conduct detailed exploratory testing for complex scenarios, edge cases, and critical functionality. Automation Leadership - Mentor team members on best practices for automation, ensuring they have the skills to contribute to automated test suites. - Independently working on building testing tools, automation tests and ensuring the team uses the most effective solutions to meet project needs. - Continuously improve the automated test suites, ensuring their scalability and reliability. Quality Advocacy & Process Improvement - Advocate for a "Shift-Left" testing approach, ensuring testing and quality practices are integrated early in the SDLC. - Working on initiatives for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) improvements, ensuring a streamlined and efficient release process. Continuous Learning & Innovation - Proactively suggest and implement innovative testing techniques that improve coverage, accuracy, and efficiency. - Drive efforts to integrate non-functional testing (performance, security, scalability) into the broader testing strategy. - Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in testing. Mentorship & Leadership - Mentor junior QA engineers, providing guidance on technical skills, test strategies, and professional development. - Proactively suggest and implement innovative testing techniques that improve coverage, accuracy, and efficiency. - Participate in technical interviews, helping to assess and hire new talent for the QA team. Essential 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong background in automated testing. - Solid understanding of both manual and automated testing techniques, with hands‑on experience using automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium or similar frameworks. - Proven experience in leading quality initiatives and driving quality improvements at an organisational or project level. - Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive solutions in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. - Strong programming skill ideally JS. Desirable - Experience with the Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket). - Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests into build pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Github). - Knowledge of JavaScript (ES6), SQL, and experience testing RESTful APIs and microservices. - Exposure to web/mobile testing and frameworks like Playwright/ Selenium /Appium. - Experience with performance like K6, security, and scalability testing for complex software systems. - Knowledge of version control tools such as Git, and cloud environments like AWS. - Experience working with DevOps teams or familiarity with continuous integration environments. - QA mentoring experience, with a proven ability to guide, develop, and inspire a team of QA professionals. What your impact and success looks like We expect your success and impact in the early stages of your career with us to look something like this: Within 1 month - Engage with leadership and engineering teams. - You will have an in-depth the Reapit’s products, development processes, and testing frameworks, the team structure, and the existing testing processes. - You will begin participating in test strategies for ongoing projects and participate in cross‑functional planning sessions, advocating for quality from day one. - You will start providing ideas on helping improve test plans and strategies. Within 3 months - You will be helping the QA efforts on larger, more complex features, ensuring test coverage is thorough across both manual and automated testing. - You will have identified opportunities to improve the automation framework and test processes, driving initiatives to reduce manual efforts. - You will have established yourself as a key contributor in planning sessions and begun collaborating closely with stakeholders to align on quality requirements. - You will actively be mentoring junior and intermediate engineers, sharing best practices and helping them grow in their roles. Within 6 months - You will be involving in the QA activities across multiple projects, ensuring quality is integrated throughout the SDLC. - You will have led major improvements in the test automation framework, significantly reducing manual testing efforts and increasing test coverage. - You will be shaping the future of QA processes and helping the team transition to new tools or practices to enhance efficiency. - You will be driving cross‑functional quality initiatives and influencing technical decisions that improve the overall product reliability and user experience. - You will be seen as a key mentor and contributor within the team, recognized for helping to upskill other QA engineers and raising the overall standard of quality within the organization.
