Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen as Team Leader Carer Experience in our Foster Care Team South.
The purpose of the Therapeutic Foster Care Team Leader role is to provide strategic and operational leadership within OzChild’s Therapeutic Foster Care Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services to children, young people, their families, and carers. The Therapeutic Foster Care Team Leader supports the Program Manager Foster Care & Lead Tenant, and the Manager Foster Care in the delivery and performance of the program through the leadership and management of a team of Therapeutic Foster Care Practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership within the Therapeutic Foster Care Program.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services to children, young people, families and carers.
- Support the Program Manager Foster Care & Lead Tenant and the Manager Foster Care in program delivery and performance.
- Lead and manage a team of Therapeutic Foster Care Practitioners.
Qualifications
- Essential requirements: Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework.
- Skills & Experience: Strong support for the vision and work of OzChild; highly developed verbal and written communication; experience in program and policy development; demonstrated experience in complex family assessments; experience with at-risk and vulnerable children and carer families; demonstrated management and leadership skills; focus on quality outcomes; ability to liaise with carer families, professionals and the broader community; excellent assessment and risk assessment skills; knowledge/experience in Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems; knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory provisions and frameworks; experience in providing training or community education sessions; experience recruiting, assessing and training carer foster families.
Role Location and Working Arrangements
Role is based in Dandenong / Yarraville with flexibility and open to hybrid days.
