Position Details

EDUCATION ASSISTANT – LITERACY SUPPORT

Holy Rosary School is a two-stream co-educational institution catering to boys and girls from Three-Year-Old Kindy to Year Six. Every child at Holy Rosary is valued, known and heard, empowering them to develop their strengths in doing good for their world, and forming enduring friendships to flourish in their joy-filled childhood.

Our student-centered approach is based around our strong Catholic community, evidenced based teaching and engaging learning. We are specifically seeking Education Assistants with experience with the Science of Reading including programs such as: Dibels, MiniLit, MacqLit or approved Dyslexia SPELD programs. An additional allowance may be offered to highly qualified and experienced candidates.

Position Available:

1. Education Assistant – Literacy Support.

Selection Criteria

1. Commitment to Catholic Ethos: Ability to support and embody the Catholic ethos in all duties.
2. Science of Reading training and experience: including programs such as: Dibels, MiniLit, MacqLit or approved Dyslexia SPELD programs.
3. Student Relationships: Ability to develop positive and trusting relationships with students, supporting their engagement, wellbeing, and regulation.
4. Team Collaboration: Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team with other staff members.
5. Interpersonal and Organisational Skills: Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
6. Community Building: Enthusiasm for building community within a Catholic school, in collaboration with staff, parents, and students.

Qualifications Required

1. Certificate IV Teacher Assistant (or equivalent).
2. Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to attain this).
3. Senior First Aid (desirable).
4. Formal training in Dibels, MiniLit/MacqLit (desirable).
