We are now offering a unique opportunity for Head of Supply Chain to join our agile, collaborative team to manage the end‑to‑end production and supply chain life cycle.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role will report directly into the Chief Financial Officer, whilst managing a team of 5 operational staff. This person is responsible for overseeing and optimising the end‑to‑end supply chain operations at Permaconn Group. This includes procurement from overseas and local suppliers, inventory forecasting and demand planning, production (light assembly of security and fire alarm products), warehousing (across Sydney and Perth), and the order‑to‑dispatch processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Procurement
- Manage relationships with overseas and local suppliers to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement of parts and finished goods.
- Purchase both components for production and fully assembled products to support business needs.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as material shortages or supplier delays.
Production Management
- Oversee the light assembly of security and fire alarm products, ensuring that production meets quality standards and timelines.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed.
Warehousing and Inventory management
- Manage warehousing operations across Sydney and Perth, ensuring accurate inventory control, storage, and timely dispatch of products.
- Develop and implement efficient warehousing practices, including picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer needs while minimising excess stock and obsolescence.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards within the warehouse environments.
Order-to-Dispatch Process
- Oversee the end‑to‑end order processing, from receiving orders to ensuring timely dispatch and delivery to customers.
- Monitor and improve the order fulfillment process, aiming for on‑time and accurate delivery.
- Work closely with logistics providers to optimize shipping routes and reduce transportation costs.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of 5 operations staff, including procurement, production, warehousing, and logistics personnel.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Provide regular training and development opportunities to ensure the team’s skills are aligned with business needs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, inventory management, and production planning.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyse data and make strategic decisions to improve supply chain performance.
- Experience in managing multiple warehouse locations and overseeing logistics operations.
- Strong commitment to professionalism, integrity and open communication.
- Intuition to deliver work on time and to a consistently high standard.
- Ability to perform as an executive member of the Permaconn group.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive and enthusiastic.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Supply chain, procurement or production managerial role, preferably in security, electronics or manufacturing industries.
- Broad and proven experience in the full life cycle of procurement and supply chain is preferred.
- Higher education in Supply chain management, business, engineering or related field.
