Role Type: Part Time (0.6/ 3 days a week), Ongoing

Salary: $79,000.00 - $121,000 Plus Super (Based on Qualifications and teaching experience)

Are you passionate about empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners through culturally responsive education?

Preference will be given to candidates who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or who have strong alliances and experience working closely with Indigenous communities. This is essential to deliver the Mumgu-dhal tyama-tiyt community, connection and pathways courses, which are designed to support learners in strengthening their cultural identity and re-engaging with education.

What We’re Looking For

Due to the nature of the curriculum and the cultural significance of several units, it is highly recommended that applicants have an Indigenous background or deep cultural knowledge. Some units require the teacher to possess Indigenous knowledge and lived experience to ensure authenticity and cultural safety.

- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122) or currently working towards
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
- Demonstrated experience working with Koorie communities or in culturally inclusive settings (education settings preferable).
- Teaching experience, preferably amongst Indigenous communities.
