Information Security Senior Consultant (Penetration Testing)

What’s the role?

This role will be responsible for advising Westpac’s business and IT units on information security, with a specific focus on penetration testing and vulnerability management.

It will involve planning and executing security testing activities, strengthening vulnerability management practices, and supporting the implementation of frameworks that protect against current and emerging threats. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and third-party partners, provide strategic input on security policies and governance, and oversee incident response and awareness initiatives. The role also includes leading and developing a high-performing team to deliver key information security outcomes for the organisation.

What do I need?

- Experience in information / Application security, information technology, risk management, or equivalent role and performing advanced web, network, application, mobile and infrastructure level penetration testing.

- Experience in identifying and documenting security requirements and writing Penetration Testing reports and communicating identified vulnerabilities to the internal stakeholders.

- Solid understanding of one or more of the following Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Knowledge of Container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift is favourable.

- Strong expertise in Software development and Risk analysis/Threat modelling.

- Formal education or certification in Penetration Testing (such as OSCP, OSWE, OSCE, CREST, HTB CPTS or AdvancedSANS Penetration Testing).

- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM related to Information security and implementing automated security testing tools and processes.

- Financial Service Experience will be highly advantageous.

- Experience implementing automated security testing tools and processes.

- Knowledge of AI or LLMs.
