Requirements:

As a software engineering team lead you will report directly to the VP of Engineering and will lead an engineering team to achieve their very best. You will:

1. Build and maintain a high performance software engineering team
2. Develop solutions, define delivery goals and lead teams to achieve them within agreed timelines
3. Nurture a strong ownership mindset and willingness to drive outcomes
4. Communicate effectively with stakeholders business-wide
5. Provide leadership, training and mentoring to other software engineers
6. Work effectively with product managers and other teams to achieve the best outcomes given a number of constraints
7. Cultivate a healthy team culture centred on company values

Required experience:

1. 5+ years experience building modern large scale web applications
2. Experience leading an engineering team
3. Experience working in an agile environment, moving fast and continuously shipping
4. Good written and verbal communication skills
5. Track record of strong ownership and ability to self-manage work
6. Strong creative problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
7. Excellent technical skills, we expect you can engage with our senior architects to contribute to technical plans and designs
8. Tertiary Degree in Computer Science / Engineering (or related); MSc or PhD a plus

Nice to haves:

1. Extensive experience managing multiple software engineering teams
2. Hands on experience across end-to-end technology stack (infra, database, integration, networking, front-end and back-end application development)
3. Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred)
4. Experience with SOA, microservice and containerisation architecture
5. Experience with modern Javascript frameworks, such as Angular, React or Vue
6. Experience with Python, Go, PHP, .NET
7. Experience developing public facing APIs
8. Strong understanding of web security best practices
9. Domain knowledge in the FinTech space
