About the Role

As a Supervisor at BHP, we will provide you an environment where health and wellbeing are seen as a pre-requisite for safety and productivity. You will have access to training and professional development tools, which will support you in your role. You will be empowered by your Superintendent and encouraged to ensure your team are connected to their strategy and plan. The roster on offer is 4DN on / 5 off / 5DN on / 4 off / 5DN on / 5 off.

Responsibilities include:

- An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities
- Supporting the health and wellbeing and sustainable development of team members
- Drive an inclusive and diverse culture
- Build relationships across functions to achieve positive working environment for task execution
- Taking responsibility for identifying and resolving problems, and for assessing the potential impact on production, plant and equipment
- Leading and coaching team members in the active pursuit and achievement of maintenance and productivity targets
- Monitoring and measuring standards of work and performance of team members
- Maintain 1SAP supervisor processes
- Identify, report and rectify hazards
- Manage and coach work groups on quality, task-based risk assessments
- Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activities

Licenses and Appointments (once in role):

- Current unrestricted West Australian ‘C’ class license
- General Schedule 26 Appointment together with Schedule 26 Electrical Supervisor Appointment

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an effective and collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments.

As our successful applicant you will possess the following qualification, skills and experience:

- A genuine commitment to safety and proven safety leadership skills in the field is a given
- Previous experience in leading a maintenance team in a frontline supervisory capacity
- Hold an Electrical Licence or Electrical Engineering Qualification
- Excellent safety leadership skills and history of field leadership participation
- Strong fixed plant equipment and processes knowledge desirable
- Experienced in 1SAP work management
- Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong leadership experience in leading and developing teams
- An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
- Ability to problem solve and react to unplanned situations
- Sound time management skills
