Whyalla, Australia Circular Economy Systems Full time

Hillgrove Resources is currently seeking an experienced Development Loader Operator to join our Underground Mining team at the Kanmantoo Copper Mine in South Australia.

A great opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the core of our operations.

Job Description

About Hillgrove

Hillgrove Resources (ASX:HGO) is a growing ASX-listed Australian copper producer with its heart in South Australia. Located in the majestic Adelaide Hills, only 55km from the Adelaide CBD, Hillgrove has operated since 2005 and completed open-pit mining at Kanmantoo in 2020. In 2023 we commenced development of our underground mine and in 2024 completed our transition to underground copper production.

Our operation is well capitalised with a 3–3.6Mtpa processing plant, with permitted surface infrastructure in place. Hillgrove is also testing the next suite of high-potential targets. In addition to the Kanmantoo operation, we have a large land holding of granted Exploration Licences in South-eastern South Australia, which are highly prospective for the discovery of economic copper deposits within a variety of geological settings (“South Eastern Copper Project”).

Hillgrove supplies critical minerals for a sustainable future, backed by long-standing environmental stewardship and strong stakeholder relationships. With a well-understood ore body and proven metallurgy, we deliver stable performance, deep regional know-how, and active participation in South Australia’s mining community.

About the Role

As a Development Loader Operator, you will play a key role in the underground development phase, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of loaders to support material movement and site development. This role is critical in helping us meet production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

You will support site development through roadway maintenance and general labouring tasks and help to maintain clean and safe work areas

A key part of your role will involve conducting pre-start inspections, reporting equipment faults, and accurately logging shift data.

About you

You are a safety-conscious and experienced underground mining operator who takes pride in operating equipment with precision and care. You thrive in physically demanding environments and have a solid understanding of underground development processes. With strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, you're able to identify and address issues quickly to keep operations running smoothly. You’re a reliable team player who communicates well with others and is just as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with a crew. Most importantly, you're committed to working safely, supporting your teammates, and contributing to production goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you need:

Valid Australian Driver’s Licence

Strong working knowledge of underground mining practices and safety

Preferred:

Self-motivated, team player with strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Candidates with extensive experience in bogging development headings are highly desired

Why Hillgrove?

Be part of something great while contributing to the success of a proudly South Australian operation Hillgrove Resources offer a supportive, professional work environment where you are genuinely valued as part of the team
