Job Summary
Martinus is seeking a Safety Advisor to come in and hit the ground running on one of the country's biggest rail infrastructure projects. Ideally, you will come from a major projects background and can impose strong health and safety management legislations across multiple construction and plant operating sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and drive continuous improvement to support the project team in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure project compliance.
- Monitor HSE performance of the project/site teams and contractors, ensuring that activities comply with related legislation and company policy.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and authorities, including Inland Rail representatives.
- Keep, monitor registers, and prepare reports on maintenance and compliance activities.
- Assist in the development and compilation of relevant HSE documentation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety roles.
- Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g., Cert IV in WHS or higher)
- Experience in the interpretation and application of relevant WHS, Rail, Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards, and Codes of Practice.
- A demonstrated ability to understand audits and risk assessments.
- Ability to travel and work required roster.
About the Project:
The Inland Rail Program is a 1700km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne, incorporating new and existing rail track. Works in the Albury to Illabo and Stockinbingal to Parkes sections involve extensive enhancements to specific sites across the 355km of existing track.
