The role
As our Technical Security Chapter Lead your main objective is to develop and lead your chapter while also helping us embed a culture of learning, empowerment, adaptability, and collaboration across 7-Eleven. As part of your role, you will encourage consistency and excellence, along with building distinctive capabilities and an agile mindset across the Technical Security chapter.
As our Technical Security Chapter Lead, you will directly oversee:
• Defining the Security guardrails for squads to enable the efficient flow of work
• Support and inform Tribe and Squad technical decisions
• Demonstrate critical thinking of how our Security craft may need to evolve over time, including the development of game plans to build chapter member craft to support this evolution
• Ensure squads have the necessary resourcing and capabilities within squads to support the security function.

• Collaborative in nature. Play a key role in our growth by cross functional engagement, including providing expert technical recommendations and guidance.
• Work collaboratively with the Product Owners of squads to ensure the delivery of solutions as per our quality and standards.
• Proficiency in engaging and effectively communicating highly technical concepts.
• Have experience in applying Technical Security concepts in a modern way of working.
• Develop & mature the Incident Response (IR) and Detection capability through continuous improvement of the IR plans/playbooks, detection controls and recovery capabilities / procedures.
• Lead the cyber incident management process and support vendors (MDR), ensuring timely detection, response, and resolution of cyber threats and management of our SIEM and alerting systems.
• Lead the detection, triage of vulnerabilities and work with teams to ensure their timely resolution within acceptable timeframes.
• Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators for Cybersecurity operations.
About you
• Proven ability to coach and develop others in your craft, and also in general leadership skills
• Experience leading security operations and/or security platforms function.
• Experience in vendor management, governance and continuous improvement.
• Technical experience as an incident responder and/or support of multiple security platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM).
• Proven experience leading the response to critical/high severity cyber security incidents.
• Proven experience delivering IR and operational automations to delivery more efficient response, recovery or detection capabilities.
• Ability to synthesis and simplify seemingly complex business requirements into simple and elegant solutions.
• Strong awareness of DevOps practices and Agile delivery requirements
• Experience in engaging with Enterprise Risk functions and Risk committees
