Salary – Clerk Grade 9/10 - $120,859 - $133,183 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation

The Department and Team
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing as well as a better quality of living. The work of the AHO makes a significant impact to society and the greater community.
The People Strategy & Development team is a customer-service oriented, solutions-focused team, with a core purpose of supporting our people to deliver on our objectives of improving outcomes in Aboriginal communities throughout NSW.
Your role
The Senior People Partner is responsible for delivering operational and technical people & culture guidance to clients, facilitating effective staff management and driving business improvement initiatives.
What you'll do
- Developing, analysing, and managing systems and processes that support People, Performance, and Culture initiatives, including employment conditions, job evaluations, workforce planning, and performance management
- Optimising human resource information for workforce planning and analytics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with relevant legislation
- Participating in project teams and coordinating designated human resource project activities, ensuring alignment with people & culture objectives and successful project outcomes
- Offering strategic advice to clients on human resource policies, promoting compliance and facilitating best practices to mitigate risks
- Working in partnership with another Senior People Partner and a Senior WHS Partner to provide case management assistance to the People Strategy & Development team, ensuring adherence to policy and legislative requirements while achieving best practice outcomes
- Maintaining and updating the organizational structure for assigned client groups to ensure it remains current and relevant.
- Model high standards of professional behaviour and ethics, ensuring actions align with the Code of Ethics and Conduct, organizational values, and policies
- Identify and escalate issues to leadership as necessary to ensure timely resolution and support for client needs

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and deep respect for Aboriginal culture, with ample experience tailoring solutions to meet client needs, where that understanding and respect are guiding principles. They will bring a customer service and problem-solving mindset with a flexible approach to delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources is highly desirable
- Extensive knowledge of human resources legislation, policies, practices, and strategies.
- Proven experience in implementing client-focused human resource strategies, programs, and services.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of technical platforms, including project management tools and the complete Microsoft Office suite
- Ideally, have experience working directly with Aboriginal stakeholders and communities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- A professional, yet empathetic demeanour
