Permanent Full Time

Located at Wingfield and reporting to the Manager Commercial Engines, you will have mechanical and electrical experience with industrial, marine and generator engines. You must be able to work unsupervised and extended hours when required, in a field or workshop environment.

The successful candidate will work within a motivated and high quality operation to work to AS3000 service standards and follow up results. The role offers plenty of variety and will focus on repair, install, service of generators, switch boards and load test a variety of models driven from diesel and gas configured engines. This will suit a person with proven fault finding skills, a thorough electrically mechanical aptitude and goal focused.

You will be accustomed to high level customer service. We require a candidate who has a mature work ethic and is generator experienced. You must demonstrate persistence with electrical diagnostics and understand 415V AC alternators.

Some rostered after hours work is necessary with a support system on call. The Generator Electrician role includes a service vehicle.

Your responsibilities

- Generator and control system diagnosis

- Service and repairs to all models of product

- Generator package installations

- Control system installation and or upgrades

- Ensure all preparations for field repairs are complete prior to leaving the workshop

- Complete field service dockets on a daily basis

- Complete SIMS reports for all Caterpillar repairs

- Perform electrical diagnosis and testing as required

- Complete the Electrical Certificate of Compliance when required

Dual trade qualifications are essential (Diesel Mechanic & A-Class Electrician) as is a current and valid driver’s licence.

Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge is required, preferably with experience in power generation and control systems.

You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to be highly organised.

You must be a team player who is willing to assist and work with other Cavpower employees.
