Café Cook – Churches of Christ, Little Mountain – One Table Café, Sunshine Coast | Permanent, Full-Time Opportunity

Are you a culinary enthusiast eager to craft delightful dishes in a vibrant café setting? One Table Café, a cherished part of the local community, is on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Café Cook to bring our café menu and experience to life.

As Café Cook, you'll be the heart of the One Table Café kitchen, responsible for leading the preparation and cooking of a variety of meals that will keep patrons coming back for more. Your role extends beyond the cooktop; you'll ensure our kitchen remains a safe, clean, and inviting space, and you'll contribute a pivotal part in guiding and mentoring our café attendants and trainees.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspire, prepare and lead delivery of the daily menu.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, manage inventory; liaise with suppliers.
- Coordinate seamless catering for our on-site functions and events.
- Culinary Creation: Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, ensuring each plate meets high standards of taste and presentation.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen spotless and organized, maintaining equipment, appliances, and utensils in top condition.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, coordinate with suppliers, and manage orders to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and aligned with the budget.
- Team Leadership: Assist in supervising café attendants and school-based trainees, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including meal counts and equipment temperatures, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Essential:

- Proven experience in the hospitality industry, food preparation and menu delivery.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene practices and kitchen safety standards.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Outlook and internet browsers.
- Ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate.

Desirable:

- Certified Hospitality Qualifications or relevant experience.
- Experience in supervising and training junior kitchen staff or trainees.
- Experience with preparation and delivery of catered menus for events and functions.
