About the Team

The Digital Operations Team, Digital Operations plays a key part in shaping the Digital Landscape the Commission uses to deliver on its objectives.

The Digital Operations Team contributes to the Section’s objectives by ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of the Commission’s digital infrastructure and systems, utilising best practices in implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and end of life management. By optimising performance, reliability and resiliency, we support the delivery of services to the Commission’s users.

About the Role

The Junior System Engineer will be responsible for managing incoming requests and incidents from the Service Desk, maintaining system/environment documentation and maintaining and improving the team’s knowledge base. You will be expected to hit the ground running providing level 2-3 support for our network and operating environments, and assisting the project (change) team as required.

You will have experience with troubleshooting network, cloud and endpoint issues in a hybrid network and engaging with various teams, stakeholders and vendors.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

- Manage incoming requests and incidents in a timely manner.

- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot network hardware.

- Assist in the decommissioning of network infrastructure that is end of life.

- Monitor network to detect and resolve issues.

- Maintain and create technical documentation such as knowledge base articles, change requests and operating procedures.

- Liaise with external vendors as required.

- Demonstrate accuracy and efficiency, with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.

- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, including Directors and Senior Executive Staff.

- Provide on call support during shut down periods.

Position Details

- Salary offered will be between $86,204 - $93,226 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

- Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
