AUMS Longhole Trainer

We are actively seeking an Experienced Longhole Driller to join us in our African Operations. The roster on offer is 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Make sure that the relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations are followed.

- Accurately drill a series of Longhole to a design pattern using a mechanised drill.

- Read and accurately follow mine instruction plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient, and profile.

- Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres.

- Set up and troubleshoot on Longhole Drill rigs.

- Access face conditions at the start of the job and scale from height according to site requirements.

- Demonstrate passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times.

- Experience in training a national workforce.

- A minimum of five years’ experience in the Underground Mining Industry.

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience solely as an Underground Longhole Driller.

- Knowledge of Underground Mining Practices and the efficient operation of an Underground Longhole Machine.

- Highly organized and able to work efficiently with limited supervision.

- Strong experience operating DL431 and DL421 drill rigs essential.

A full pre‑employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol test, and site‑specific clearances.
