[Urgent Search] Youth Minister
City on a Hill began with a small team and a big vision to make a difference in our world for the glory of God. Since our inception in Melbourne in 2007, we have witnessed a special work of God’s grace as he has united hundreds of men and women around the mission of ‘knowing Jesus and making Jesus known’. City on a Hill is now a movement of thirteen churches in six cities.
While our story is characterised by constant change and growth, we have maintained an enduring commitment to Christ and his call on our lives in this generation. We are committed to raising up gospel hearted leaders, to build healthy churches, which will reach and serve cities with the gospel of Jesus.
City on a Hill Melbourne East has a booming next generation ministry, including a growing cohort of youth. The time has come for staffed leadership over this ministry with the expectation for faithfully stewarding the natural growth that will come from our children growing up. This presents an exciting discipleship and missional opportunity to reach the youth of the eastern suburbs of Melbourne for Jesus.
The Youth Minister will oversee our City Youth ministry and lead a team of voluntary leaders to reach and disciple the youth of City on a Hill Melbourne East. They are a person who has a love for young people and are passionate about bringing them up to know Jesus (Luke 18:16). This role involves shepherding and discipling our youth, leading strategic ministry, developing leaders, being an active member of the wider City on a Hill Melbourne East community and creatively initiating the reaching of young people in Melbourne’s east.
The Youth Minister will be based at City on a Hill Melbourne East and will report to the Associate Pastor (Community and Mission). The Youth Minister will also receive coaching, training and support from the City on a Hill Movement Director of Next Generation Ministry. This is a paid, part-time position of 3 days per week.
