Automation Testers | Contract Opportunity | Federal Government Projects
We're currently partnering with a high-profile government department that plays a critical role in shaping Australia's economic, scientific, and industrial future. They are looking for experienced Automation Testers to support a variety of major ICT projects within a collaborative, high-performing division.
Day rate is open but subject to experience, rough estimate around $700-$1,000 p/d + Super
Only candidates with recent government experience will be considered at this stage.
Please note you need to be in a position to obtain a Baseline Security clearance (Australian citizen).
About the Role:
As an Automation Tester, you'll work within multi-disciplinary project teams to help deliver critical digital solutions. You'll be responsible for building and executing robust test plans, driving automation practices, supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities:

- Create and manage test plans and strategies using Azure DevOps.
- Write, review, and execute detailed test cases for web-based applications.
- Prioritise testing efforts and ensure effective defect management.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and SMEs in an Agile environment.
- Lead business stakeholders through the UAT process.
- Support testing of digital solutions for WCAG accessibility compliance.
- Provide expert advice on testing strategies and support the implementation of automation best practices.

Skills and Experience:

- Proven experience in automation testing within complex ICT environments.
- Strong background in writing, executing, and managing test artefacts and strategies.
- Ability to work productively within fast-paced, geographically dispersed Agile teams.
- Knowledge of WCAG standards and accessibility testing (current accessibility training is highly desirable).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on engaging non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Desirable:

- Experience developing test plans and cases for custom applications on Azure and Microsoft platforms.
- Hands-on experience tracking and managing testing through Azure DevOps.
- Previous involvement in guiding User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
