About the Opportunity
There is an exciting opportunity in Primary and Community Health for a Dietitian to join the Paediatric Weight Management Service. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering evidence-based nutritional care to children, young people, and their families. You will work within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team (MDT) including Paediatricians, Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, a Social Worker, Exercise Physiologist, Administrative Officer, and fellow Dietitians. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the MDT to conduct individual assessments and develop tailored nutrition care plans to support families to make sustainable lifestyle changes. This position will commence in January 2026.

- This position is district wide, with the location negotiable.
- The position may be extended depending on service needs.
- Flexible work arrangements are available within Primary and Community Health.
What You'll Be Doing
This position is responsible for providing patient-centred and high-quality nutrition services to patients in SWSLHD Growing Healthy Kids (GHK) Childhood Overweight and Obesity Management Service, including providing nutritional care to patients as per caseload; providing and participating in education and evaluation; supervising students as appropriate; and participating in ongoing professional development. Growing Healthy Kids contributes to the NSW Premier's priority of a 5% reduction in child overweight and obesity by 2025. - Must hold a Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
- Relevant clinical experience and good knowledge of current Dietetics practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group education skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in the prescription and delivery of nutrition care to children and their families.
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those holding a C class license (P1 or P2) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
