ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on a 7:7 day/night roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires.

As a Boilermaker – Mobile Maintenance, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and rebuilding underground and surface mobile mining equipment.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

- Completing preventative maintenance, inspections & repairs on mobile plant equipment
- Responding to breakdowns & executing corrective work orders
- Contributing to root cause analysis for reliability improvements
- Truck tub repairs, loader buckets, wear packages, crack repairs, heavy fabrication
- Supporting safety initiatives & maintaining workshop cleanliness

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

- Prior experience with structural repairs & heavy fabrication on mobile mining equipment (CAT haulage, Sandvik/Epiroc drills, Volvo loaders, Toyota LV Fleet)
- Mobile equipment repair - fault finding, crack testing & component refurbishment
- Experience with truck tubs, loader buckets, and mobile attachments (Desirable)
- Reading CAD plans & technical drawings
- Collaborating within high-performing teams with strong communication skills

Qualifications

- Cert III in Engineering - Fabrication (Boilermaker)
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- High Risk Licences: Dogger, Rigger, Gantry Crane, Forklift (desirable)
