Responsibilities
- Enable the development of regional collaboration in East and South East Asia to deliver on the gas strategy.
- Lead on the delivery of the joint “Asian campaign gas push” in Q4 2025 as per what is laid out in the discussion paper, the narrative proposition, and the current global gas strategy.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between GPSEA, GPEA and GPAP on gas related work.
- Provide support, feedback and insights for campaign collaboration with NROs in Asia and Australia-Pacific.
- Connect GPSEA, GPEA, and GPAP campaign teams to expertise within and outside GP and to other NROs.
1. Support climate and energy campaign planning and implementation in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand (GPSEA) primarily to enable them to deliver the global gas strategy:
- Support comms-engagement strategy development in GPSEA, GPEA, and GPAP to counter gas demand and production.
- Provide insights on global and regional situations primarily on gas and connected issues.
- Facilitate collaboration and discussion on key issues and Greenpeace’s position in the region.
- Provide feedback to campaign strategy development and implementation.
- Connect campaign team to expertise within and outside GP and to other NROs.
- Keep ongoing communication with GPSEA, EA, and GPAP to build stronger regional relationships.
- Facilitate and activate GPSEA climate and energy community.
What we’re looking for:
- Strategic Campaign Design and Implementation: Experience in designing and delivering complex campaign strategies, preferably in the climate and energy space, with a strong understanding of the gas landscape in Asia.
- Regional Collaboration and Facilitation: Proven ability to enable and sustain collaboration across multiple offices and cultures in East and Southeast Asia, including facilitation of virtual and in-person meetings or processes.
- Political and Regional Analysis: Strong analytical skills to interpret regional and global political, economic, and industry trends related to gas and energy transition, and apply these insights to campaign planning.
- Communications and Engagement Strategy Development: Experience in shaping communications and engagement strategies to counter fossil fuel narratives, shift public perception, and influence key targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Networking: Ability to connect campaign teams to internal and external expertise, allies, and stakeholders, including within the broader Greenpeace network and across civil society.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Familiarity with campaign evaluation methods and ability to develop learning documents to inform future planning, identify commonalities, and assess impact.
- Interpersonal and Cross-Cultural Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively across different cultural contexts and time zones, and maintain regular communication with dispersed teams.
- Demonstrable language skills: in English & at least one major language spoken in South-East Asia.
- Adaptability and Initiative in Fast-Moving Campaign Environments: Comfortable navigating uncertainty, seizing emerging opportunities, and adjusting campaign tactics quickly in response to new developments.
