This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team within the Mid-Western Regional Council.
This role is a full-time position, based on site in Mudgee with options of flexible working arrangements.
The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $2,979.00-$3,353.40 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $77,454.00-$87,188.40 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
Key Accountabilities
- Facility and Booking Management: Manage the portfolio of sporting clubs, community groups, schools, and associations to facilitate and maximise the use of Council’s sport and recreation facilities. Coordinate site logistics, oversee booking processes, and ensure facilities are ready and appropriately resourced for use.
- Client Agreements and Financial Administration: Coordinate client agreement processes, oversee the receipt and reconciliation of facility hire and event takings, and maintain accurate financial records with regular tracking and reporting.
- Database and Information Management: Maintain the integrity of the facility booking system and clubs/associations database, ensuring all bookings are accurately documented, contact details are kept current, and relevant statistics are recorded and reported.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external. Ensure clear communication of the bookings and events program, support a two-way flow of information, and assist in facilitating regular stakeholder meetings.
- Strategic and Asset Support: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies, plans, and active living initiatives. Assist in identifying and communicating asset planning and maintenance needs for sport and recreation facilities.
- Event and Operational Support: Provide proactive support for the coordination and delivery of events and activities, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Work Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Council’s Work Health and Safety policies and legislative requirements and promote a safe workplace across all levels of the team.
- Organisational Values and Conduct: Promote and demonstrate Council’s core values and behavioural expectations as outlined in the Workplace Environment Statement.
- Other Duties: Undertake additional tasks, projects, or responsibilities as directed by management, in line with skills, competence, and training.
Position Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in sports/events management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Upto two years’ experience in customer service and stakeholder management, with the ability to build relationships and handle difficult interactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience in event management and preparation.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex stakeholder enquiries with competing priorities, while maintaining a solution-focused approach and resilience in handling challenging conversations.
- Available to provide on-call support and work evenings, weekends and public holidays depending on event schedules.
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to quickly develop competence in Council-specific software programs, including complex bookings systems.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.
