Role and responsibilities
Ashburton Drive Primary School is seeking to establish a Level 3.3 Classroom Teaching role for appointment to a fixed term, full-time vacancy for 3 years. The principal at the applicant’s substantive work site will provide the right of return at the conclusion of the 3 year fixed-term vacancy. Priority is afforded to back-filling of the successful applicant before their release to the Level 3.3 Classroom Teaching role.
In addition to classroom teaching, the Level 3.3 Classroom Teacher will provide instructional leadership focused on curriculum in collaboration with the principal and administrative team. The successful applicant will implement change strategies, provide leadership across the school community, facilitate workforce effectiveness, and model ongoing professional development. The role includes establishing and managing administrative and operational systems to ensure effective operation within departmental policy and guidelines. The teacher will work in a culturally responsive and context-specific manner to engage stakeholders productively and respectfully. A demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions and collaborate to solve complex problems is essential.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- classroom teaching – up to 0.9 FTE
- instructional leadership – additional minimum 0.1 FTE release time
- delivering professional learning
- providing feedback
- mentoring staff
Qualifications and eligibility
Essential requirements
- be a Level 3 Classroom Teacher currently employed by the Department of Education
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
- demonstrate an outstanding ability to deliver innovative, bold and creative solutions and work collaboratively to solve problems
