About our School
- Brinbeal Secondary College is one of the newest 7‑12 Colleges in Melbourne’s west. The school opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 7 students in 2024 in a purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art facility.
- At present the school has approx. 450 Year 7 & 8 students and will add an additional Year 7 cohort each year until 2029 when it becomes a 7‑12 school.
- Gradual enrolment growth sees total enrolments of 750+ by 2026.
- We achieve at or above network and state performance on Naplan, attendance and student, parent & staff surveys.
- The school is located 23 km from Melbourne CBD in the Western Growth Corridor, serving the communities of Grove and Grand Central Estates in Tarneit.

2026 Positions of Responsibility
Positions will be advertised in term 4. All current and future staff appointed before this will have an opportunity to apply.
Selection Criteria
- SC1 – Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, literacy & numeracy skills, and student learning response.
- SC2 – Planning and implementing high‑impact strategies, evaluating impact on learning growth.
- SC3 – Monitoring & assessing student learning; using data to inform practice.
- SC4 – Interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative relationships with students, parents, and community.
- SC5 – Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values; professional learning.
Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges. The primary focus is on planning, preparing, and teaching programmes to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers may undertake additional duties suitable to their salary range, qualifications, training, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas.
- Undertake other classroom teaching‑related duties as determined by the Principal.
- Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
- Undertake other non‑teaching supervisory duties.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach the specified curriculum area(s).
