What you'll do:

As Infrastructure Portfolio Director, you will play a central role in guiding the strategic direction of vital infrastructure assets that underpin essential public services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve leading cross-functional teams in delivering both construction-related projects and corporate support services. You will be instrumental in developing frameworks that ensure quality outcomes across asset management, financial planning, procurement processes, and information dissemination. - Develop robust frameworks for construction scheduling, asset management, budget oversight, and project delivery to ensure timely completion of initiatives exceeding $100M annually.

- Foster a culture of collaboration by building cohesive networks both within the command structure and with external partners to enhance service delivery outcomes.

- Champion the implementation of integrated information management systems—including document directories and SharePoint—to streamline data flow and improve responsiveness to internal and ministerial queries.

- Provide expert advice to senior executives on emerging risks or issues related to infrastructure operations while maintaining rigorous standards in governance reporting and audit compliance.

- Drive continuous improvement by seeking input from experienced team members on new initiatives that can further enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

- Instil project management principles throughout all functional areas to underpin successful delivery of complex programs under tight deadlines.

- Exceptional time management abilities with proven success in delivering high-volume outputs under strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

- Outstanding interpersonal skills enabling you to build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups including executive leaders, operational divisions, suppliers, and external partners.

- Advanced written communication skills required for preparing complex documents such as business cases, briefing notes, reports, and executive correspondence.

- Proven track record in establishing robust information management systems (including SharePoint), implementing change management strategies effectively within large organisations.

- Strong analytical acumen allowing you to identify trends in data or information flows and make well-supported recommendations at executive level.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Commercial Management, Project Management or Construction Management; additional credentials in government procurement frameworks or document management highly regarded.
